Birthday & X-mas Celebrations

Here are a ton of picture of Boo on his birthday, on X-mas, and in Las Vegas.

Here're pics of Boo under the tree, as requested by Grannie and Grampie.

Poor Zoe-- she's such a good sport!

Here's a pic of the fruit chiffon cake Terence made Boo for his birthday that we got to eat the next day.  Yum, yum- it was MUCH better than the cake we actually had at his dim sum birthday party.

Here are some pics from Boo's dim sum birthday party.  Thanks to all the people who could make it!

Here are pics of our trip to Vegas.  We had to stop a few times to let Boo stretch, and we decided to go to the Mad Greek, since it had a zillion billboards on the I-15 and since it looked packed.  It wasn't bad.  This is probably my favorite pic of Boo and Terence of the whole trip.  So matchy, matchy, and it wasn't even on purpose!

Here are a couple of pics of our hotel room at the Palazzo.  It was very nice, except for the fact that you couldn't turn off the fan, even if you wanted to.

Here we are the first night at dinner-- some enoteca by Mario Batali.  It was decent.  I had the proscuitto and arugula pizza, and Terence had the buccatini.   We were still sort of full from the greek food.

Here we are at Bouchon, a bistro by Thomas Keller.  It has really delicious breakfasts.  Boo threw a tantrum, so we stuck him under the tree.

Here we are at Boo heaven-- FAO Schwartz.  Too much bounty!

Here's Boo after waking up from a nap surrounded by his useless pillow fort.  Good thing he knows how to get off the bed safely (feet first!).

Happy Birthday!!

Yaay, I've kept Boo alive for a whole year! I would have thought that by now, he'd be sleeping through the night and weaned off breast milk, but he's still keeping me pretty busy in that department. Hopefully some day soon...

Anyway, we gave him his present shortly after breakfast, and he pretty much played with it all day. Here's a pic of him and his new favorite toy, after Randy the Rapping Christmas Bear (see prior post).

Walking practice takes lots of concentration!

I love music!

Of course, since it was Boo's birthday, we also took pics. Here's his official pic as a one year old big boy. Look at my spiffy new shoes-- thanks Great Aunt Kathy and Kim!

Here's my favorite-- Boo in the snow with his Dr. Seuss outfit.

Here he is with his birthday cupcake. The chiffon cake that Terence made wasn't ready yet, so I guess we'll eat it tomorrow!

Stay tuned next week for his dim sum lunch celebration and Vegas pics!

"Cultural" Activities

Here are some pictures of Boo just hanging out at home. I thought this pic was funny for some reason.

Here he is with his baby, Randy the Rapping Christmas Bear, aka, the most annoying bear ever. He made us play him about 200 times, mostly in a row, until he broke.

Here's his usual TV watching face. We don't let him watch a lot of TV, mostly for this reason...

Last weekend, we went to the San Bernardino County Museum, since it's only 5 minutes away. We thought we'd soak in the local culture. It was full of dioramas of taxidermied animals, which was not so fun for us, but was fascinating for Boo! He especially loved the taxidermied dog-like animals and the bears.

We thought we'd let him cruise from exhibit to exhibit, since we were the only people there, and he seemed to want to explore by himself.

Here he is strolling along from exhibit to exhibit.

His favorite exhibits were the ones with dog-like animals and bears, since he's more familiar with those animals. He delighted in anything that even vaguely resembled those animals, as you can see here.

All day long, he would point to various animals and say "Da!" or "Da??" "Da!" is pretty much his way of saying "That!" and "Da?" in Boo parlance means "That?"

We also had the Brands over for pie. Here he is playing with Karenna.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Strangely, we don't have any pictures from Thanksgiving... too busy cooking, I guess. Here are pics from the weekend before, and of our decorated Christmas tree.

Here we are cruising around Pasadena in Grandma's glasses.

Here we are with Aidan, Lina's baby. He's only about 4 months, but weighs just as much as Boo! He's on a water diet.

Here's Boo napping on Uncle Dave, who has the magic touch.

Here we are with Lynne, Lance, and Eva, our friends from Sac. We surprised the waitress by finishing all our food. Apparently, we ordered way too much food, but being the fatties we are, it was the perfect amount!

Thanksgiving morning story time with Daddy.

Playing with kitty toys.

Here's Boo doing what he loves best-- pointing to things and saying "Da?" Then we'll tell him what it is, and he'll say "Da." Unless it's actually a word he knows...

"Why can't I decorate the tree??"

Finally, here's a pic of Floopsie, the present muncher.
