Slightly belated, or slightly early, however you look at it. We will be spending New Year's at home. If Peanut Seed has his way, we'll be sleeping, but there's still an endless litany of chores to do. Well, not endless, I suppose.
On a side note, is there anything easier to make than profiteroles? If you happen to come over and have them, we'll pretend they were super hard to make, but boy, are they simple!
Okay, laundry's a-ringin' -- Peanut is doing great. He makes lots of dirty laundry, which means his feeding and weight gain is right on schedule. Though I have to admit, there are times when I want to just put him in a short sweater and leave him be; the pants-o-penia look. But then we'd end up wiping his back and legs instead of his butt, and we don't want that either, I suppose.

"I'm happy when I poo"

Happy Holidays -- for Christmas, Peanut gave us two trashbags full of soiled diapers! He's so thoughtful!
Today's special treat comes all the way from Michigan -- Baby Bread! Click the link to hear Baby Bread, the Peanut Sprouts Remix, courtesy of DJ Jazzy James. Any problems with pitch are from the vocalist, not the musician.
Pictured, a Peanut-flavored Baby Loaf! This also answers the question: "Does he have hair?" Yes, on his head, and on his shoulders. Very masculine, this one.

Peanut Sprouts!
He's here! Here are the things that everyone always wants to know, but then never remembers -- he was born on December 18th at 12:44 PM, measured 18 inches, and was 7 pounds and 5.7 ounces. We'd post a picture, but we're in our room at the hospital, and we can't upload here. Stupid Websense access filter! But let me paint a picture -- imagine Terence. Now miniturize him to about 7 pounds and 5.7 ounces, and you'll have an excellent idea of what he looks like. The funny thing is, he doesn't look like Terence as a baby, he looks kind of like Terence as an adult. So he looks like Terence's Mini-Me! Don't worry, we'll get pictures up soon!
So, the story of his birth. If you recall, he was supposed to arrive today, December 20th, via scheduled c-section, because he was breech. On Monday, Jen was checked by the OB, and she was 2.5 cm dilated, and 80% effaced. For reference, she was 2 cm and 75% effaced last Friday. Anyways, Terence was at work, doing a procedure, when he got a text page: "i'm timing some very painful contractions". Terence texted back "how long?", then received "well, just started timing -- counted 2 so far 7 and 4 min. hurts ...". So Terence realized what was happening, so he called her at home, and said to take a shower, to see if the contractions went away (ha, ha). Jen claims that it was her idea to take a shower, though. Anyways, Terence realized that she was going into labor, and that she was about to get a c-section, but didn't want her to worry, so he told her that they'd call the OB after she took a shower. After he hung up, he told everyone he had to go, and then was overcome with apprehension. So he finished his cup of tea, then drove home (it's not very far).
So anyway, when he got home, Jen was still in the shower. He called the OB, and started loading the car. Jen was having very painful contractions, probably every 5 minutes. We got to labor and delivery, where they put on the monitors, etc. When they checked her, she was 8 cm dilated! It would have been great if he was facing the right way. In any case, about a half hour after she got there, we were in the OR getting a c-section.
And that's the story of how Peanut got out of the oven. Mom and baby are doing great, thanks to all who've called. Pictures coming soon ...

Whoo.
Welcome to Peanut Sprouts!
Welcome to Peanut sprouts! We'll be charting the growth our little peanut, and hope you'll enjoy the pics, videos, and stories to follow....
Our little peanut is coming out of his shell via C-section on December 20, 2007 at approximately 7:30 a.m. He's been very active in the oven flipping and turning, but forgot to turn head down, and got stuck. So, even though he still tries to turn sometimes (turning my stomach into a funny looking oblong), he's outta luck. C-section it is!
Here's a pic of Peanut's nursery, decorated in the typical Chinese fashion-- cheaply and tackily. Zoe's standing guard (as usual).
