Our Halloween Pumpkins

As promised, here are pics of our Halloween pumpkins. Terence did them both freehand with household tools and utensils. He thinks pumpkin carving kits and templates are for the weak!

Our Busy October

We've had quite the busy October. Here are some pics of Boo in his girly Halloween costume. He dressed up as a pig, because he is a pig!




Here is a pic of us in front of the hospital where he was born. That day, we went to watch the Loma Linda Day Parade, but ended up following the last float. It was a very tiring 2 mile trek, but we stopped halfway for food and the farmer's market.


We also took a weekend trip to the Omni Hotel in LA, where Terence had a conference. It was fun, but Grandma, who claimed to be "not contagious," got Boo sick. Here's a pic of the hotel room upon check in.

Milestones

I realized today, while we were shopping at Ikea, that I've totally forgotten when Boo started to pull up. Was it at 8 months? Or was it more like 9? When he first did it, I thought I'd never forget, but a mere 1 (or 2?) months later, I have. That's when I realized that I should probably be writing down his milestones somewhere... and that somewhere is here!

So anyway, here's what Boo can do. He can sort of do many things: play pat-a-cake (he'll start slapping my hands when I sing the song); give kisses (he'll purse his lips, open his mouth, and lean towards you, drooling the whole time); wave bye (he'll use his whole right arm and wave stiffly, like he's hitting someone on the head); high five (more like low five); and cruise around his crib.

He can also say certain things like "Mum-mum," "Dada," "hey," and "All done (which sounds like "ah-dah!)" He says "All done" the most often, and usually when feeding. To really get his point across, he'll tear off his bib if I keep trying to feed him. He really doesn't talk that often, so it's hard to say if he's saying things purposefully. It seems like he is, though. He can also give you what he's holding if you ask for it, and point out certain animals in his favorite books. That's about it, I think. I keep hoping he'll develop a fondness for putting things in boxes so he can help me clean his room and stuff, but that day is still probably very, very far away.

The Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday, we went to the best pumpkin patch ever at Live Oak Canyon Farm, which was on I-10 and Live Oak Canyon Drive in Redlands. It had U-pick pumpkins (20 acres), about 20 different variety of freshly picked pumpkins to choose from (in case you're too lazy to pick your own), a gift shop, petting zoo, ATV rides, pony rides, bounce houses, some carnival games, and a really cute picnic area. It was a fun way to spend an hour, and, judging from the parking lot, which had about 300 cars in it, other people probably thought so too. The funny thing was that it didn't feel crowded at all. I would highly recommend this pumpkin patch to all people in this area...

Here we are at the petting zoo-- he liked the Alpaca. There were also some goats that were on top of the structures on podiums-- and then you could wheel them some food on some sort of pulley-- it was interesting, and the goats weren't stuck up there, so it was humane, as well. If I find a pic of that, I'll post it later tonight.

Finally, here's a pic of me and Boo with the white pumpkin we picked out for him for Halloween. We're going to make it into a nightmare before X-mas pumpkin. For some strange reason, Terence is also really good at carving pumpkins... pics will be posted when the time comes...
